The Royal Sonesta Houston Galleria

Went to this hotel for a company meeting, lasted a few days, their internal restaurant is absolutely amazing! They served breakfast lunch and dinner for us! Loved everything I had! Their service was outstanding, everyone was very polite and respectful. Beautiful lobby and conference hall. They had a nice bar with plenty of options, as well as an internal store you could find anything needed. The guys in valet parking were also friendly and helped direct me a few times. Great job Houston Galleria

This is hands down one of the best hotels that I have stayed at. The valets offer fast and excellent service. The bellhop was very nice and assisted with grace and swift assistance. The front staff was attentive to delivered outstanding service both person to person and any inquiries via room phone. The room I stayed in had a lovely view of the Uptown area, and had one of the most comfortable mattresses I have slept on. The restrooms had every amenity need just in case you forgot a toiletry, and that was a nice touch. The shower had great water pressure and a long lasting heat. I unfortunately had a tumble in my room and security ensured that the EMT’s were able to get to me rapidly and that I had a wheelchair available in case I needed it, and I appreciate that. The room service was amazing and was delivered quickly. The Red Velvet pancakes were fluffy and delicious, and the breakfast potatoes were well seasoned and flavorful. The attendant even educated me on the Yuka fries that come with the Ribeye and they were spot on, I really enjoyed them and the tender succulent steak as well. One of the best reasons to return is the fact that it is centrally located and anything you can think of from shops like DXL or a nice restaurant, and even museums are only about 10-15 minute's away from the Royal Sonesta. I will definitely give this place 5 out of 5 stars and recommend that you make the Royal Sonesta your go to hotel for your next trip or even a staycation whenever you are in Houston. The experience was phenomenal and the entire staff made this a great stay, I really appreciate everyone at the Royal Sonesta - Houston Galleria.

Pretty mixed on this place. The property is nice and well landscapes, the lobby, bar and restaurant are and convention floors are very well done, and the staff was great! But the rooms are VERY average for the price. Bedding and pillows are average, the bathroom felt very old and the carpets didn’t seem super clean. All around an “ok” stay. I expected better for the cost

Perfect location for shopping. It felt safe and comfortable. The Galleria was within walking distance. It was beautiful luxurious hotel. Our room was very clean but with a bit of curiosity exploring the toiletries provided I did find some used qtips in the vanity kit but that is something that can easily be overlooked by housekeeping so not a problem. Our room was a bit warm the 1st night but the guest services was very prompt in sending someone to come take a look at the AC unit and get it to a more comfortable level temperature. Room service was amazing. I felt they went above and beyond. The breakfast buffet was also very nice and enjoyable. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The elevators were a bit noisy but efficient. Parking was very easy and convienient. The only complaint I have is the timing of our stay. We stayed without knowing there would be several company parties happening at the same time of our stay. So upon returning to the hotel after a busy day of exploring the city we would walk into the chaos and noise of people taking over the entire hotel lobby and bar area, instead of staying contained to the ballroom, with no consideration of letting us get thru to get to the elevators to get to our room. The party guests that did have rooms that we ran into in the elevators were very rude and condescending and/or drunk. The guests in the room directly next to ours were in and out all night and we constantly had to hear loud talking in the hallway and the door slamming open and closed til almost 3am. But now I know for the next stay to make sure there isnt any big events going on at the same time of our stay before I book my stay.

Although I initially arrived at this hotel due to a mix-up by my host — as I was supposed to stay at a five-star property — it turned out to be a much better experience. It may not officially be a five-star hotel, but the staff here certainly deliver five-star service. Kudos, especially to Joane — she connected instantly, and her warmth and hospitality made me feel truly welcome. I’ll keep returning to this property for as long as the same wonderful team is here. It was my first time visiting in Houston and having a great time staying this hotel .. the food is great and the hotel is clean nearby to shopping center .safe neighborhood . Nearby to the different restaurant or bar you can chill with your friends or family ..stuff is friendly specially for Miss Martha the front desk who send an early surprise in my room for my birthday despite my birthday next month on March .thank you

I would like to share my experience at the Royal Sonesta at the Galleria Houston, we booked our rooms, day for check in we were driving from Dallas and running behind called the main number spoke to a lady in reservations was nice, told us to call back and choose guest services, did that, wanted to let them know we were running late and if possible to our rooms together, for us and children on same booking, the lady was rude and cut me off and said we can’t prove it’s you over the phone and have to speak to the other party to put you together, I explained to her it was one party parents and children 2 rooms, very unhelpful, I thought maybe she can add to notes or something, she said they will help us when we arrive which I thought was odd, I have called ahead of time before and have been assisted in other establishments. We drove and came to the hotel from valet to front desk and the housekeeping , everyone was wonderful. Denis checked us in, told him we were here as my husband had an appointment in Md Anderson, he was so nice and I told him about the phone call he apologized the next day we got a complimentary breakfast with a card from Dennis. He doesn’t know it but that really brightened our already difficult time with my spouse being sick. The lady at the front desk Martha met my son on the elevators and gave him a Teddy and met the older kids and my teenager said she was nice to them. It’s the small things that make a big difference. The staff at the hotel were both great on a professional and personal level to us and for that we are greatful. Rooms were spacious and clean and hotel is close to everything you may need. We will definitely come back next time we are in town.

I’ve stayed at the Royal Sonesta twice in the past few months and it’s a great hotel. Beds and comfy, location is perfect and the staff is top notch. Jala at the front desk is the best! Super sweet and goes above and beyond. Very grateful for her! We’ll definitely be back!
